Craig Hiemstra ’92 MBA, is national sales manager of Environmental Tillage Systems in Faribault, Minn. Previously, Hiemstra was a co-founder of a concept to commercialize a carbon credit trading platform for FCStone.

Bryan Yeh ’95 MBA, was awarded the 2011 Professional Progress Award by The Northern California/Nevada section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. This award was in recognition of Mr. Yeh’s work with the Northern California/Nevada section as well as his contributions to the chemical engineering profession. Yeh is currently assistant vice president at Science Applications International Corporation and manages its biofuel, food protection, and food security work.

William B. Zipf ’02 MBA, is vice president of Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company in Dover, Del. Zipf oversees all areas of the business, including engineering, pipeline system operation, transportation services administration, pricing and regulation, pipeline integrity, and budgeting and financial analysis.

Bret Farmer ’04 MBA, is a rail division manager at TKDA, an engineering, architecture, and planning firm located in St. Paul.

Matt Redlon ’04 MBA, was appointed as chief executive officer of Clario Analytics in Eden Prairie, Minn. Redlon was previously the chief technology officer of the company.

Loren Schirber ’05 MBA, owner of Castle Building & Remodeling in Minneapolis, was recognized by Remodeling Magazine as a 2011 “Big 50” remodeler of the year in the sales and marketing award category.

Carol Kitchen ’07 MBA, is senior vice president, Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and International at Land O’Lakes, Inc. in Shoreview, Minn. She has nearly 20 years of cooperative experience, previously working as vice president, International for Land O’Lakes Purina Feed.

Jason Ross ’08 BSB, is a private banking officer at Republic Bank in Duluth, Minn. Prior to this, he was a commercial lending credit analyst at the bank.

Megan Duwell ’10 BSB, is a recipient of the 2011-12 Roads Scholar grant, which assists American post-collegiate runners who show great promise to develop into national and world-class road running athletes. She is currently a member of Team USA Arizona, Adidas-McMillan Elite located in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Andy Post ’10 BSB, has joined Weber Shandwick in Bloomington, Minn. as an assistant account executive. Prior to this position, Post worked as a professional services analyst at the Nielsen Company.

In Memoriam

Aileen Foley ’47 BSB, of Minneapolis, a retired hospital administrator and World War II veteran, passed away February 1, 2011.

Walter Blumst ’48 BS, passed away April 28, 2011 at 93 years of age. He was employed by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Francisco for 32 years, retiring in 1980. As a proponent of senior issues and civic activism, he served on the California Delegation to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging hosted by President Bill Clinton and was president of the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging in 1989.

Edward G. Thuman ’54 BSB, of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on May 3, 2011.

Michael Arend ’59 BS, of St. Paul, passed away May 28, 2011.

James Frederick “Jim” DiMarco ’64 MBA, passed away May 19, 2011. He was employed at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in Racine, Wis. for more than 34 years. He retired as Senior Vice President Worldwide Consumer Products – Research, Development, and Engineering in 1998.

Jake Hughes ’07 BSB, of Loretto, Minn., passed away May 25, 2011. He was an employee of the Winthrop and Weinstine Law Firm.
